Peace of Mind
There are times in life when you feel like a dark cloud is hanging over your head & you are in need of help and relief…help for your loved one and relief for the exhausted caregiver. I found myself in that situation and a church friend recommended Fernandez Care. I spoke with the owner Rick Fernandez and was grateful that he and his staff would be able to help my husband who has Parkinson’s and who had just returned from the hospital after having surgery for a fractured hip. I have been very pleased with the staff members he has sent for 10-hour night shifts so that I could get some long-overdue sleep. They have been punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable and they are Certified Nurse’s Assistants. My husband has felt comfortable with each staff member as their bedside manner has been warm and positive. I highly recommend Fernandez Care. He has been able to work with my schedule and strives to meet the needs of his client and their families.

Exemplified professional Compassion
Rick Fernandez has exemplified professional compassion from the moment we met him. At the recommendation of Patsy Ramirez Kittleman we called him when we felt it was time for us to have some extra help at home. Frankly, opening our home to a stranger to help us was a daunting task. We feel very fortunate to have found Rick and his team. Rick came to our home and told us about himself and asked questions he thought necessary to assess our needs. We came up with a schedule and he, himself, came to our home for a few weeks to observe Dan’s routine. He then did an excellent job of assigning Ram to our care.
Everything runs smoothly with Rick checking in on us frequently to see if we need anything or have any concerns that need to be addressed. On occasion we have had to change our schedule or have needed assistance when Ram could not be there. Rick has quickly found a replacement and set things into place so that Dan’s schedule would not be interrupted.
Frankly, with Rick’s help and of course Ram’s as well, we have been able to maintain a sense of normalcy as we have needed to add assistance with Dan’s care. We cannot say enough nice things about Rick and his company.

In December of 2014 I fell and broke my ankle and had to have home assistance for 4 months.
Mr. Fernandez and his team began working with me at that time and made the process much simpler. He and his employees, while not interfering, managed their time well. I never felt imposed upon, but things were always taken care of. The day to day chores of grocery shopping, errands, wash, etc were always done with ease and care. In the 4 months of my recuperation they proved to be honest and dependable. They definitely made me their top priority. I would recommend them highly to anyone in need of their services.

This letter is being written as a letter of recommendation for Mr. Ricardo Fernandez. This young man is thirty years of age. He is married and he and his wife have three children. I believe that because of my past history I have become a good judge of character. I have known Mr. Fernandez for serval months, and during this time I have become well acquainted with him. In my opinion he is an excellent “parent” and “husband.”
Prior to working for me, Ricardo had worked for a very good friend of ours Dr. Lauro Guerra, a family physician, like myself, who is no longer living. All the reports that I have heard regarding his job performances for Dr. Guerra and his family have been excellent and faultless.
My wife of 60 years expired in February of 2012. My family and I have been in desperate need of finding persons or at least one person who was totally trustworthy and who could work full time in our home.
I am 86 years old. I am in fair health. My hearing acuity has deteriorated progressively and because of this my family and I decided that it would be best if I forego driving our automobile in the future, and that our new employee would need to show his or her past driving history and ability. Preferably he or she should be bilingual (fluent in both English and Spanish languages). He or she should dress neatly and conservatively at all time. He or she should demonstrate polite and appropriate speech and behavior. We employed Mr. Fernandez on a temporary basis and he is now working with us as a full time employee. He has met and exceeded all of our expectations. He is completely trustworthy and dependable. I recommend him very highly.

I highly recommend Rick Fernandez. My association with Rick has only been in his assignment as chauffeur; however, I would trust him in any other capacity.
For two seasons he drove five of us women to concerts of the Valley Symphony Orchestra. Always punctual, Rick appeared in shiny clean car, impeccably groomed, and escorted us, offering us any assistance we might need. Likewise at the auditorium he adapted that assistance to specific needs.
Rick is affordable and agreeable and always professional. And patient!! With five women telling their driver with way to go, when to turn, and how to park. Rick never deviated from his courteous, compatible self.

An answer to our prayers
Several months ago, it became apparent to our family that we needed to acquire home health care for my 84 year old father. A friend of mine had experience with Fernandez Care Assistance and highly recommend them.
I contacted Rick Fernandez and he met with me and my sister the same day. Two days later, my sister interviewed 3 male caregivers that Rick considered to be a good fit for my father. We were extremely impressed with each one and agreed they would be perfect. We were relieved when they were put in place the very next day.

When my husband Paul, was diagnosed with a terminal illness, our family immediately realized I needed help. Turning to my church, First United Methodist in McAllen, I quickly received a phone call from a member of the staff recommending Rick Fernandez Care Assistance. LeeAnn’s father had Rick’s caregivers. One phone call later Rick was in our home assessing our needs. We began by requesting all night care soon transitioning to 24/7. My life changed for the better
I am an 85 year old, partially paralyzed, disabled man, who lives alone. Since this honest, trustworthy, caring, respectful couple came into my life everything has changed abruptly for the better.
